Banana and Peanut Butter Baked Oatmeal Treats
This recipe includes just three ingredients (some you may already have readily available) – a ripe banana, peanut butter, and oatmeal. My dog, Lacy is a picky eater and she absolutely loves these treats. Your pup probably will too.
Ingredients you will need:
A banana– make sure the banana is ripe and will be easy to mash. Bananas are low in calories and make great treats for dogs in moderation. They are high in vitamins, potassium, and fiber.
Natural Peanut Butter- the peanut butter you give your dog should be all natural and should not include added oils and sugars. Please note: be sure your peanut butter does NOT contain xylitol. This is toxic to dogs.
Oats– make sure to use plain oats with no extra flavoring. We will blend the oats to make oat flour for the recipe.
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees (F).
- Add oats to a food processor or blender. Blend until the oats are a fine powder consistency. Now add the peanut butter and banana to the mix. Blend until a dough is formed.
- Roll the dough (about an inch thick) on a floured surface (I just used some extra oat flour).
- Use cookie cutters or cut into squares and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden. These can be stored in an air-tight container for up to two weeks.

Frozen Banana Dog Treats
These frozen “pupsicles” are perfect for any hot summer’s day. In all honesty, they are perfect year round. Similar to when you get a craving for ice cream in the middle of winter, your pup will love these frozen treats regardless of how it feels outside. This recipe also includes just three ingredients- blueberries, bananas, and unsweetened plain greek yogurt. The best part is- it is incredibly easy and quick to make. The hard part is waiting for them to solidify in the freezer.
Ingredients You Will Need:
a ripe banana– over ripe will be best for this recipe.
Plain Greek Yogurt- make sure this is unsweetened with nothing added.
blueberries– blueberries are a great treat for your dog in moderation. They are low in calories and packed with vitamins and antioxidants.
How to Make the Frozen Treats:
- Add in banana, greek yogurt, and blueberries into the blender altogether. Blend until the ingredients are a “smoothie-like” consistency.
- Pour mixture into a silicone ice cube tray. I used these adorable paw print and bone shaped trays.
- Put in freezer for 2-3 hours.

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Treats
Many people go crazy for everything pumpkin when fall time comes around. Many dogs love it as well. These treats combine the flavors of peanut butter and pumpkin- what’s not to love?
Ingredients You Will Need:
Oats- plain oatmeal with no extra flavoring.
Pumpkin puree- Plain canned pumpkin is best for dogs as it does not contain added fats and sugars. Make sure you are buying plain canned pumpkin and not pumpkin pie filling. This has added sugars and oils that can make your pup sick.
Natural Peanut Butter- no added sugars/oils. Make sure the peanut butter does NOT contain xylitol. This ingredient is included in some peanut butters and is toxic to dogs.
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees (F).
- Blend oats in blender until it is a fine flour consistency.
- Add in pumpkin puree and peanut butter. Blend until a dough consistency. (Note- if you need the dough to be a little more firm, place it in the fridge for about 20 minutes).
- Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface (it is easiest to use some extra oat flour)
- Cut into 1-inch squares or drops
- Line cookie sheet with parchment paper and bake treats for 20-25 minutes.
