Homemade Blueberry Dog Treats

A delicious simple homemade blueberry dog treat recipe to make for your pup.
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Servings: 22 treats
Course: Baked Dog Treats

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter unsweetened and xylitol-free, of course!
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries
  • 2 1/2 cups of oat flour for a gluten-free treat
  • 3/4 cup of water

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Spatula or whisk
  • Measuring Cups
  • Rolling Pin
  • Baking/cookie sheet
  • favorite cookie cutters
  • Parchment Paper

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Start with wet ingredients peanut butter, eggs, and the whole blueberries in a large bowl. This trio not only makes the base of our treats but also ensures they’re packed with flavor and nutrients.
  3. Slowly mix in the oat flour while simultaneously adding water to keep the dough manageable. This process ensures a smooth, rollable dough. Keep gradually adding in the flour while mixing.
  4. Once your dough is ready, pop it in the fridge for 30 minutes. This little pause makes rolling out the dough so much easier. If you don't do this step, the dough will be a little sticky.
  5. Spread out some flour on the counter and roll out the dough with your rolling pin.
  6. Use the cookie cutter of your choice to cut out shapes from the dough. I used this dog-themed pack here.
  7. Place the treats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake treats in the oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
