Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups of oat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup finely chopped apples
  • ¼ cup of Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch optional for icing
  • Pinch of cinnamon optional

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Rolling Pin
  • Large mixing bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350℉
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oat flour, eggs, and Greek yogurt.
  3. Use a spatula or whisk to mix them together until smooth. Once your mixture is well-combined, fold in the finely chopped apples. Make sure the apples are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  4. Place the dough in the fridge for 15-20 minutes. Chilling makes the dough easier to handle and less sticky, which is especially helpful when rolling and cutting it out.
  5. Once the dough is chilled, roll it out on a flat, floured surface using a rolling pin. Aim for a thickness of about ¼ inch. Next, use your favorite cookie cutters to cut out the treats.
  6. Place the cut-out treats on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Be sure to leave a little space between each treat to ensure even baking.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Keep an eye on them to avoid over-browning.
  8. Once the treats are baked to perfection, remove them from the oven and let them cool on a cookie rack. Make sure they're completely cool before offering one to your dog.
  9. IF ADDING ICING:
In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with just enough water to achieve a drizzling consistency. Use a spoon to drizzle the icing over the cooled treats.
For a bit of extra flavor and a festive look, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon on top.
