Homemade Pumpkin Pie Dog Treats

A Classic dog-friendly twist on a fall dessert staple-pumpkin pie!

Ingredients
  

  • cups oat flour
  • 1 cup plain pumpkin puree
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • as needed cornstarch (optional)

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Handheld mixer
  • Plastic wrap or a clean cloth
  • Rolling Pin
  • Cookie cutters
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper (optional)
  • Cooling rack

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350℉ (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oat flour and cinnamon.
  3. Add the egg and pumpkin puree to the dry ingredients.
  4. Use a handheld mixer to blend the mixture until it forms tiny clumps.
  5. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap or cover with a clean cloth, and chill it in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Once chilled, roll out the dough with a rolling pin and cut out treats using cookie cutters.
  7. Place the treats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper (optional) and bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Transfer the baked treats to a cooling rack.
  9. Optional Icing: Mix cornstarch with water until thick. Drizzle over the cooled treats if desired.
  10. Add a pinch of cinnamon on top of all the treats.
