Pumpkin Carob Dog Treats

A homemade fall dog treat with pumpkin and carob flavors.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups oat flour
  • 1/2 cup carob powder
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup water

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Whisk
  • Rolling Pin
  • Cookie cutters
  • Wire rack
  • Piping bag or ziplock bag (for icing)

Method
 

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) for even baking.
  2. Combine oat flour and carob powder in a mixing bowl. Whisk together.
  3. Next, stir in pumpkin puree, egg, and water to form a soft dough.
  4. Refrigerate dough for 20 minutes to firm up. This will make it much easier to work with in the later steps.
  5. On a floured surface, use a rolling pin to roll to 1/4 inch thickness.
  6. Use cookie cutters to create fun shapes. I used a paw print but feel free to use whatever shape you have on hand.
  7. Place treats on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
  8. After baking, let treats completely cool before icing or serving to your pup.
